Dr. Baca’s Story

Psychologist. Counselor. Community Builder.

Dr. Baca wears many hats–counselor, clinician, social worker–but throughout his life, one thing’s remained the same: his unwavering commitment to bettering his community.

He began his ambitious career in social work. Studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he completed his Master of Social Work (MSW), before pursuing his Master of Clinical Psychology at Central Michigan University.

From there, Dr. Baca completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the Union Institute & University. During his training, he benefited from the inspired teaching of Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Pat Love, under whose guidance he earned his qualifications as a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and Couples Workshop Presenter, respectively. Since then, he has had his work published in a number of publications concerning imago relationship theory and practice.

Down-to-Earth Roots, Cross-Country Journeys

Dr. Baca is a proud Indianapolis resident. But he’s also proud to spread his roots wide across this country. He is Native American and Hispanic, with centuries-old ancestry in New Mexico, and he is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. He’s lived and worked in Santa Fe, Cincinnati, Michigan, and Wisconsin. His nationwide origins mean that he loves venturing from coast to coast. When not hard at work, he can be found tinkering on his motorcycle and automobile, getting them ready for his next big journey.

A Diverse Practitioner Serving a Diverse Clientele

Dr. Baca provides service to all couples, groups, and families. His doors are open to all who need the compassionate guidance of a trusted therapist, and he welcomes clients from all backgrounds and walks of life. He provides services in both English and Spanish.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Baca has presented national workshops on a number of marital therapy issues, including character problems, object relations, envy, and pedophilia. He’s also worked as a forensic psychologist, and he has consulted private and public agencies on such topics as staff development, program development, and training. He is also a well-established educator. He has supervised postgraduate students and taught classes in marriage and family therapy at the Christian Theological Seminary.

Ultimately, Dr. Baca’s primary commitment is to help couples and families grow. He loves helping couples blossom by helping them understand each other’s needs and experiences.
